As the IRS increases scrutiny of workers classified as independent contractors it is imperative churches understand how to properly classify their workers. Classifying workers in the same manner as “has always been done” is no longer acceptable. Misclassifying workers can result in significant penalties to the church in addition to inviting unwanted scrutiny from the IRS. This session will provide guidance for properly classifying workers and avoiding common errors made by churches.
